White Trash by Alexandra Allred This was one of the first books I learned exactly what it means to be an open and honest editor, even when it scares me. |

Roadkill (The Allie Lindell Series) by Alexandra Allred Once again, my trusted friend and mentor strikes, flipping my whole world wonky-doodle. Alex pushes me to better as an editor and as a person, not just for myself but for those around me as well. This series forced me to think beyond the words on the page in an attempt to help make her characters come to life. After all, who wants her readers stringing up a vital character before the second chapter even begins? |

The MORE Trilogy by T.M. Franklin T.M. Franklin is a true talent and perfectionist in her own right, and her series kept me going. With her, I got to see what it was to work with a true professional in the writing world, and had it not been for her coming into my life when she did, I would have given up editing altogether. |

The Enemy Inside (The Edge of Darkness Series) by Vanessa Skye Vanessa and her Edge of Darkness series changed my life. I did the initial evaluation of her first book but got reassigned before I was able to dig into the substantive edit. I was brought back in after the editing process when the marketing department asked for some help in tweaking a few issues. Those tweaks led to a blessed opportunity to meet this brilliant woman, face-to-face, which turned in to me becoming the stereotypical fan fawning all over her and her work right there in public! She was gracious and kind and shocked me beyond measure when she asked if I would work with her on the second in the series. Four books later, I still fangirl her every chance I get and follow her on every social media site I can access. The difference now? She never filed any restraining orders and actually seeks me out, too! Will wonders never cease? |
